Men's Club Events

Since the original records of COT Men’s Club were probably written in Hieroglyphics, it is impossible to pin down the actual date that several members from the old 10th Street building thought that it would be a "good idea" to get together once a month to pursue that peculiar form of masculine togetherness known as "the poker game".

Besides indulging in forays of scientific investigations of mathematical permutations and combinations as they pertain to independent events in certain gaming situations, the Men’s Club always stands ready to assist the congregation in the kinds of endeavors that are commonly called "men’s work". For example, we help yearly to build the synagogue's sukkah, set up chairs and tables for fund raising events, and we clean up as well. If something has to be done, we do it!

Our meeting nights are fixed, i.e.: the 4th Tuesday of each month. We begin at 7:00 p.m. and stop playing promptly at 10:00 p.m.. While there are no dues or minutes or Roberts Rules, there is an officer: President for Life (until he can find a successor), whose word is law unless overruled by a louder voice.

Any male is welcome to join. Discussion of sports, and sporting events, and kvelling is allowed. Gossip is hardly ever heard except before, during, and after the game.  For more information,  contact Rud Stone  natrud@charter.net
